I accidentally ended up with 22" x 30" sheets of 90lb Stonehenge watercolor paper instead of 140lb paper. I have found very quickly that it does not withstand ANY scrubbing or even repeated brush stokes (I'm using Silver Black Velvet or Princeton Elite brushes). It isn't too bad for buckling if I stretch it however. I will keep it now, but I'm worried about ordering your 140lb paper if it is the same. Is your 140lb Stonehenge watercolor paper different; ie. more scrubbable/durable than your 90lb paper?

The Stonehenge 90lb paper is very different than the 140lb Stonehenge Aqua. The 140lb Stonehenge Aqua is heavily internally and externally sized for wet media applications, such as watercolor. Although, one can paint with watercolor on the 90lb Stonehenge it is primarily designed to be a printmaking paper. We'd be happy to send you a sample of the Stonehenge Aqua. Just send us your shipping details to info[at]legionpaper.com
