Is it possible to stretch Stonehenge Oil by wetting it / stapling it around a panel, or will this damage whatever priming is done to allow it to work as an oil surface?
Just in case anyone comes across this - I imagine Legion hasn't replied because this is an unknown on such a new product. That said, Stephen Bauman (an artist familiar with this paper from testing it pre-release) advises that he has stretched the paper and does not feel that it diminished its usefulness as an oil surface.
He's a big materials / surfaces guy and if anyone would notice a difficulty with paint application it'd be him - I can't comment on the longevity / archival result of stretching the paper but I take him at his word that it's possible to do so.
Thanks!
