Ask an Expert - Forum > Thai Unryu (White) roll paper

I'm wondering if anyone has used White Thai Unryu Paper for inkjet printing? It's very light weight at 25 gsm, compared to Moab Moenkopi's 55gsm paper which is coated. Any user results when using this paper for inkjet printing would be much appreciated.

Although you may feed the Thai Unryu through your printer the image results will be less than satisfactory as the paper has not been coated. The resolution and tonal range will be muted as the inks will bleed. However, Some artists prefer this look - so it becomes more of a preference.

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate the honesty and candor of your answer as I've printed on uncoated papers in the past and have noticed that there is significant dot gain. But as you correctly stated, this look may be preferred, especially in cases where a less "photo-realistic" look is desired.
