Ask an Expert - Forum > Stonehenge Vellum is it considered Cold or Hot Press?

Hi,
I am fairly new at color pencils. I am searching for a good paper to use. Years ago I had received the Stonehenge Vellum. Is this considered a cold or hot press? Or is this a seperate paper on its own? Which side is to be used? Will this take OMS? All suggestions is most welcome.
Thank you.

Hi Wendy, Stonehenge is a fairly smooth surface, so it would be considered comparable to a HP surface. However, please note that Stonehenge is not sized like a watercolor paper. Either side of Stonehenge may be used. We're not quite sure how to answer your question about using OMS on Stonehenge as it depends how you intend to use the mineral spirits with the paper. Always best to test. We'd be happy to send you a sample - just send us your shipping info to Info [at] legionpaper.com
