I am creating a "treatment card" for my customers. This will include instructions on how to handle the artwork. I am using Stonehenge 250gsm printmaking paper for screen and block printing. I was wondering if there was some generic treatment instructions that you can provide we with to add to the card.
Hi Stephen All 100% cotton print papers (Stonehenge is no exception) should be handled very carefully before and after printing. The less moving and lifting of the print the less the chance of it getting creased, dinged or dented. If they are stored in a print flat file they should be covered with an overlay of archival lightweight interleaving paper (Legion Interleaving or Glassine) to protect the surface of the print from getting scuffed. When matting and framing the finished art my recommendation is to use Rising Museum Board 100% cotton for the mat and to further protect against harmful UV rays use UV protective glass or UV protective Plexiglas.
