Is there a less expensive paper than Lettra that has the same texture and is not prone to cracking when folded? Someone suggested somerset. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks
The Lettra "cracking" issue seems have been resolved a while back. Not sure how long since the last time you've used the paper.
As alternatives, there are many. Somerset is one of the nicest papers we have (and that's saying something) and we'd have 100% confidence recommending it. However, it's not going to be in the same price range as Lettra.
There are a few others more similarly prices: Strathmore Pure Cotton Letterpress (available at www.letterpresspaper.com) Savoy (also available there) Arturo (also available there) Coventry Rag Vellum - available from resellers such as Dick Blick
