How can I get Yupo to accept the paint?

On occasion, an area of the surface of Yupo may resist watercolor. To get the Yupo to accept the paint, simply add a few drops of oxgall to your paint. Oxgall even works to allow watercolor to adhere to an area where wax resist was used.

Oxgall can be found in art stores where watercolor mediums are sold.

Just wipe the paper down with rubbing alcohol or wash with soap and water. The oil from your figures causes resist.

After I finish the painting, a few days later, dried at room temp, the watercolor starts to chip off. What can be done to prevent this?

You'll need to use a fixative/sealant to protect your finished painting on Yupo. Here's a link to an answer in our forum:
