No testing has been performed to validate the use of BEVA adhesive for the application of YUPO to a substrate. If you are willing to perform a trial, I will provide you with sample sheets for test. Please reply to my email address above with your address.
I'm also interested in the best way to mount yupo to a substrate, in my case birch panels. Has anyone tested the BEVA adhesive yet? It seems like the 371 film has good potential. Also, in other threads I believe you and other artists mention using gel. I wrote to Golden and they discouraged me from using gel. They don't think it would provide long lasting adhesion and that it could take weeks or even longer to dry since the moisture cannot evaporate thru the yupo. Is there a particular kind of gel you'd recommend? And, do you know if anyone has had the problem that Golden was concerned about? .
Thanks VS! I can see how the canvas could allow the moisture of the gel to evaporate whereas with a sealed panel it's much more difficult. I really want to use a panel, but a canvas is good to keep in mind as an alternative. I'm also going to try to use spray adhesive and adhesive film - both have much less moisture than gel so that might work for panels.
