Ask an Expert - Forum > Paper for leather journals

I'm hoping you can help. I create hand-stitched leather journals and am looking for a cotton, deckled paper. I'm currently using 98lb text but I'm flexible. The paper should be appropriate for mixed media.

Hi Ken,

Thanks for getting in touch with us. There are a lot of choices for you. Depending on the number of pages, you may want to consider a heavier paper as well. We'll contact you directly for some more information but for now, some suggestions would be Zerkall Book (145gsm), Coventry Rag (235gsm), Saunders Waterford (185gsm) and some other watercolor papers.

For covers you may also want to consider using Corkskin - a wonderful alternative to leather. Strong, sturdy and unique.
